The Canon Tilt Shift 24mm f3.5L is a great wide lens to use to shoot architecture and panoramas with the shift feature as well as to get creative shots by changing the plane of focus with the tilt feature.
The Canon Tilt Shift 24mm f3.5L allows you to control the perspective of your shots and get more professional looking shots when shooting architecture. If you are shooting wide shots of buildings, with a normal lens the buildings will look like they are falling back, bigger at the bottom and smaller at the top. Even if you can correct that with photoshop, with a tilt-shift lens like the Canon 24mm f3.5 you can do that in the camera. Shift the lens down and you'll be able to correct the perspective and get straight looking buildings. You can even enhance the perspective if you want to get creative.
When using the tilt function, you'll be able to control the plane of focus. The plane of sharp focus will follow the direction of the lens so if you tilt it down the ground will look in focus while the top of the lens will lose sharpness.
The 24mm tilt shift lens is often rented with the Canon 5Ds and Canon 5D Mark iii.
